Battery tripping units, designed and made by PES in Leeds. A BTU holds DC supply to the protection and trip circuits of HV switchgear when the mains supply fails. Sized for the panel and the duty. Certificates and an O&M manual go out with the unit. 12 months warranty.
Available at 24V, 30V, 50V and 110V, up to 200Ah. Standing load up to 4A at 24V, and up to 9A at 30V, 50V and 110V.
Four-stage charging with automatic boost. PT1000 temperature compensation as standard. Built-in battery health checks. Backlit LCD with alarm indication. IP65 enclosure.
Protection as standard: short circuit, over-temperature, DC over-voltage, AC over and under voltage, DC over-current, and reverse polarity with auto-recovery. Positive or negative earth indication if specified.
Options: volt-free mains-failure contacts. Remote monitoring by GSM auto-dialler, to up to five numbers.
Efficiency above 86% on 24V and 30V units, above 94% on 50V and 110V units. Input 90 to 305V on 24V and 30V units, 184 to 264V on 50V and 110V units, 45 to 65Hz. Charger operating temperature −25°C to +80°C.
Each unit goes through a full discharge and recharge test on calibrated equipment before dispatch.
